SERVING GRESHAM · CLACKAMAS COUNTY

If you're a Gresham parent searching for youth strength training, you're almost always after the same thing: progress your athlete can actually feel on the field or court.

Gresham is a big east-county town with a deep youth-sports scene, and families from across the Gophers, Sam Barlow, and Centennial communities want more than a generic gym session for their kids. At Take5, athletes ages 8–18 train in two tiers — Youth Foundations for ages 8–11 and Athlete Performance for ages 12–18 — so a fourth-grader and a varsity sophomore each get coaching built for where they are.

From Gresham, the trip to our facility in Damascus is a short hop down I-205, roughly twenty to twenty-five minutes door to door. That makes it realistic to train here two to four times a week without eating up an entire evening, and it keeps your athlete inside a coach-led program built for real athletic development rather than busywork.

At Take5 Athletics, we train athletes with a system built around speed, strength, and movement quality - so they gain confidence, reduce injury risk, and perform at a higher level.

  • Speed & Acceleration: first step, mechanics, and athletic movement
  • Strength Development: age-appropriate training that builds powerful positions
  • Jumping & Power: plyometrics and force production that transfers to sport
  • Durability: mobility + control to help athletes stay healthy

Most athletes train 2–4 days per week depending on age, sport schedule, and training experience. Frequency is finalized during the evaluation.

We track sprint timing, jump performance, movement quality, and strength benchmarks. Athletes are re-tested every ~6 weeks so gains are always visible and documented.

Yes. We build around your athlete's actual season - in-season vs off-season, practice load, and game calendar - so training pushes performance when it should and protects recovery when it matters.
