SERVING PORTLAND · CLACKAMAS COUNTY
If you're searching for youth strength training in Portland, what you really want is simple: development your athlete can carry onto the field or court.
Portland is a big sports town with deep high school programs — think Cleveland, Franklin, Grant, and Lincoln — and a youth scene that funnels into them. For families across inner and southeast Portland, Take5 Athletics offers structured coaching that those crowded school and rec settings often can't: two clear tracks, Youth Foundations for ages 8–11 and Athlete Performance for ages 12–18, each with real progressions instead of random group workouts.
Our facility is in Damascus, roughly a 20 to 25 minute drive from inner southeast Portland by way of I-205 or I-5. That short hop out of the city is what lets Portland athletes train on a consistent, year-round plan and keep stacking gains season after season.
At Take5 Athletics, we train athletes with a system built around speed, strength, and movement quality - so they gain confidence, reduce injury risk, and perform at a higher level.

Our Youth Performance program is built for athletes ages 8–18, including middle school and high school athletes across all sports.
Most athletes train 2–4 days per week depending on age, sport schedule, and training experience. Frequency is finalized during the evaluation.
We measure sprint speed, jump performance, movement quality, and strength markers, then re-test about every ~6 weeks so progress is written down and easy to see rather than left to feel.
Yes. Between school sports and club commitments, we shape training around in-season and off-season demands, practice load, and your competition calendar so performance and recovery both get their due.
